Back In the Game …

After taking a three-year break from politics, I’m honoured to have declared myself as a candidate for city council with the Non-Partisan Association (NPA). Many friends and colleagues have ben asking me why did I decide to do this? I have a great life, wonderful family and I’ve just embarked on a new chapter in my professional life so why would I want to once again enter the topsy-turvy life of civic politics. The answer is quite simple …

I’m very unhappy with the changes I’ve seen in my city. Our administration has become less transparent, we are spending millions of dollars on projects our neighborhoods don’t want and our city politicians have lost their way. I want to make a difference.

It’s the same way I felt in 2005 when I ran and was elected to the Park Board. I was unhappy with the lack of artificial turf playing fields (ATF’s) in the city and I wanted to change that. When I was elected in 2005 we had one ATF. When I decided not to run and stepped away in 2011, we had six. I got things done.

I’ve been away from my website too long and I invite you to check back from time to time. I won’t be posting every day but will try to post 3-4 times per week.

It’s good to be back in the game.
